European High Level Group on Nuclear Safety and Waste Management was established by Commission's decision on 17 July 2007.
The creation of this Group was endoresed by the European Council of 8-9 March 2007. It also got support from different EU Institutions.
The purpose is to progressively develop a common understanding and furthering common approaches in priority domains related to the safety of nuclear installations.
The Group brings together the senior officials from national regulatory or nuclear safety authorities.
