The objective of the ICT Skills Monitoring Group, made up of representatives from the Member States, is to prepare a report of ICT and e-business skills requirements and national policy initiatives and to draw up recommendations. Special emphasis shall be given to the requirements of European enterprises as regards acquiring the necessary professional expertise in the field of ICT and e-business. The analysis will therefore focus on the effects of the ICT and e-business skills shortage on the competitiveness of industry, including traditional sectors, paying particular attention to the needs of SMEs.
